Why Writing a Book Will Build Your Belief as an Entrepreneur

I became a published author late last year and it felt amazing to get that checked off my bucket list. Even more amazing was checking off the best selling author box a few months later with my next book. The high that I felt refreshing amazon to see those #1 rankings pop up was like nothing I’d ever experienced.

My second book was a collaboration between twenty-five authors and going through that process with these incredible ladies is what led to my life-altering revelation...

My heart is for women entrepreneurs. I tried and failed to be an entrepreneur for thirteen years before I finally found my mentor (Martha Krejci) and her belief in me changed everything. I went on to write the book that was in my heart and become a published author as a direct result of working with her. I wanted to help women entrepreneurs believe in themselves because I knew that had been the reason for my failure for so many years. The problem was, I wasn’t totally sure how to help them.

When I saw the light in the eyes of the entrepreneurs I had collaborated with for my second book, I knew I was on to something. The feedback I got from them was that writing their chapter for the book had changed their lives. Many of them had more confidence, focus, and purpose than they did prior to jumping into the collaboration and they have gone on to do phenomenal things with their businesses.

Seeing your name on a book that you wrote (or helped write) is a confidence builder. There’s just no way around it. When you can start and finish something and put it out there for the world to see, it builds credibility and belief. Do you know how much swagger comes from “I’m a best selling published author”? Spoiler alert - it’s a lot!
