Try saying that five times fast. Okay, maybe it’s more challenging for me because I have a lisp…but I digress. If you don’t know much about me or my story, I failed as an entrepreneur for thirteen years before I put rocket boosters on my success and started soaring.
After failing for so long I should probably be writing this blog post on sure ways to FAIL, but that’s coming next week. This week, let’s talk about what it takes to succeed.
The first area you want to make sure you focus on is personal growth. Yes, that’s been said a million times but that’s because it’s literally crucial to success. If you suck as a person, you’re not going to go anywhere. Guys, I’m not kidding. If you don’t like people, how can they trust you? If you refuse to share your vulnerable moments with people, how can they really get to know you? They can’t. When people like you, trust you and know you, they’ll want to support you.
The second area that is essential to your success is making sure your motives are pure. If you’re trying to manipulate people into buying from you, it’s not going to work. And if it does, well, you reap what you sow. When you come at business from a heart-centered place of wanting to truly serve people and help them, you’ll be unstoppable. If you’re coming at business from a place of desperation because if they don’t buy your product you’re going to go hungry this month, then they will feel that and will run from you. I can only speak on this because I’ve lived it. It’s not a fun place to be and I don’t recommend staying there. The third area that you absolutely MUST get a handle on is competition. No, I don’t mean compete with others and beat them. What I mean is that there is no competition. (Is it weird that I totally pictured the matrix here? There is no spoon…moving on).
You are NOT in competition with anyone! You’re in a completely different race so there’s no need to tear anyone down or hold back from cheering someone on. There are billions of people on the planet and most of us are connected via the internet. Can we just accept that someone else winning doesn’t mean that you’re losing? The only person you should be competing against is the old you. Change, grow, soar. That’s your job friend. That’s your only job.
I covered three more secrets in this video so feel free to take a look!
