You can’t show up authentically as someone else

It’s tempting, isn’t it? You see someone showing up and think to yourself,

“Why can’t I show up like that?”

Then comes the shaming and blaming yourself for not being who you think you should be. Let me let you in on a little secret…

You were never meant to show up as someone else. You were never supposed to serve the exact same way that someone else is serving. There’s a reason why there isn’t a single snowflake or grain of sand that is the exact same. You were meant to shine differently.

I used to struggle with this so much because I would look at others who were louder, who were shinier (in my opinion), who were the life of the party and then I would look at myself. Shy, quiet, subdued. Why did I have to be like this? How could I ever make it as a successful entrepreneur if I wasn’t shouting from the rooftops the many ways I could help people?

If I tried to do that everyone would know that I was being inauthentic. It’s just not me and you know what? That’s okay. We are who we are and the sooner we accept, embrace, and LOVE that truth, the sooner we’ll rise the way WE were meant to rise.

You have to show up as you. Even if that means you’re not as loud or sparkly as someone else. You can’t copy someone else’s energy and hope to attract YOUR people.

I know it’s tempting to show up as someone else. Especially if you’ve been told for so long that showing as yourself won’t get you anywhere.

I’m here to tell you that that’s a lie. Your people need you to show up as YOU so that they know you’re here for them.

If you’re feeling insecure or like you can’t possibly make a difference in people’s lives without sounding like someone else, it’s time to lay that belief to rest. It’s time to show up as authentically you because until you do that, your people will never be able to find you.

You are more than enough just as you are friend. xo
